Pragelato offers different options to the lovers of winter sports disciplines.
Very famous for its cross-country tracks, the locality hosted the Nordic skiing competitions of Torino 2006 Olympic Games. In addition to the main ring that starts from the hamlet Granges and penetrates into the gorgeous nature of the Troncea valley, there are all the routes prepared for the five-circle event on the Olympic Pragelato-plan: 20 km routes including 10 km tracks covered by programmed snow and a quite new centre equipped for the cross-country skiing. Who prefers Alpine skiing, can find in Pragelato a well furnished district with 6 ski-lift facilities (2 chair-lifts, 4 ski-lifts) taking to about 35 km slopes with breath-taking views of peerless beauty and suitable for skiers of all levels. Thanks to the new cableway Pragelato-Val Troncea-Setriere, in a few minutes it is possible to ski on the slopes of the whole Via Lattea that, with its 400 km routes, is one of the largest Italian skiing districts. |
